Term break and no holiday plans? No worries. 5 tips to get the most out of your mini home projector and keep the kids entertained this staycation.
1. Movie Night
Create your own Gold Class experience at home. It's easy to setup your ultimate movie night with a basic mini home projector and chrome cast device. Simply buy a chrome cast device (if you don't have one already) and plug it into the HDMI port of your projector, connect to the internet and stream your favourite APP onto a blank wall. Then just dim the lights, and close the blinds to create a dark movie theatre environment. There's no limit to your preferred viewing experience. Some ideas to suit all ages: makeshift tent with sheet screen for camp like experience, project onto blank lounge room wall for family movie night, project onto bedroom wall and watch tucked up in your doona, or setup an after dark outdoor cinema/ movie marathon for teenage sleepovers.

2. Stream Kids TV on the big screen
Does your child have an all time favourite show they love to watch? Similar to above
you can surprise your little one with big screen play. Stream the likes of Wiggles, Bluey, Playschool or Youtube Kids onto a blank wall or screen. They'll be amazed seeing their favourite characters supersized!

3. Game On
Create a family big screen gaming night by connecting your gaming device to your home projector and project onto a blank wall. Race around a formula one track, compete against each other in an olympic event or have a family dance off. Game on for the whole family.
4. Get creative!
Bring out your child's creativity. Using the portal projector light, shadow play with your hands to create a range of animal shapes - play guess the shape! Play dress-ups and project your perfect backdrop for imaginative play (think outer space, underwater wonderland, fairy kingdom etc). Hang butcher paper on wall and project an art image to trace, or save some dot to dots or simple word games and mazes onto your usb and project onto the paper in large size format. We'd love to hear your creative ideas too!
5. Push record, perform and play
From the budding actor, singing diva, garage rock band, short film maker or stop motion animator - record your creative pursuits via your smartphone or movie camera, edit via your favourite APP and project onto the big screen for all to enjoy. Review, critique and finesse your performance. Host your own short film fest premiere. The opportunities are endless.
The biggest decision you'll have with your mini home cinema projector is which activity to begin with. A home projector is a great purchase for family fun across the age range. Better still it can be packed neatly away in a cupboard until you need to pull it out again....unless you plan to stream and binge that next TV series when the kids are tucked up in bed.
